COVID-19 Hero: Vera Bradley Makes Medical-Grade Wearables for Healthcare Professionals

Many people know Vera Bradley for their colorful paisley prints and feminine tote bags. But don’t let their easy-going travel accessories fool you, this brand is serious about giving back.

With a history of large donations through the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, a partnership with New Hope Girls, and a commitment to providing food to elementary students through Blessings in a Backpack, it should come as no surprise they were one of the first companies to step up during the COVID-19 crisis.

CEO Rob Wallstrom said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to all affected by COVID-19 and to the courageous people serving on the front lines in our communities. We’re proud to be able to pivot our operations, lend a helping hand, and create a product with so much purpose.”

Vera Bradley is partnering with local health officials to support the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on the front lines with medical-grade face masks and wearables. The brand is also selling their VB Healthcare Collection including scrubs, lab coats, warm-up jackets and accessories to all healthcare professionals at a discounted rate.

As of March 23, Vera Bradley Associates in their Fort Wayne distribution center began producing non-medical face masks for the general public to use. Since these masks are being produced on a much smaller scale, they are selling out quickly—especially since it is becoming increasing clear to everyone that wearing facemasks may be the norm for the foreseeable future.
