Hiding features and components helps you focus on the parts you’re working on, but it hasn’t always been easy to see what was hidden. A simple change in Creo 4.0 shows you at a glance what’s hidden and what’s visible.
Let’s hide some objects to see how it looks:
You can also use the Hide/Show icon in the mini toolbar, which looks like this:
Visibility button shown in the mini-toolbar
Or use the context (right-click) menu and the Hide command:
Hide command shown in the right-click menu
The name of the hidden object is now shown in gray.
Model tree now shows hidden object grayed out.
Hiding a component makes it disappear in the graphics area and appear gray in the model tree.
Repeat the steps to make the object visible again.
Now you can try hiding a feature in the graphics area. It’s basically the same process as in the model tree, except you click on the 3D representation of the object instead of its name.
The object will disappear, and its name will be shown in gray in the model tree. Follow the steps in the model tree to make it visible again.
