Connected Service Workshop

Define, design, develop and test connected service use cases with your customers' resources.

The Connected Service Workshop is designed to mentor your team through the creation of a Connected Service use case for any of the following PTC Connected Service products:

  • Asset Advisor for Service including Remote or Connected Field Service
  • Connected Service Parts Management

Upon completion of the Rapid Outcome, your team will understand how to identify, design and deploy connected service use cases to improve how your organization provides service to your customers.

How it works

This Rapid Outcome is a 40 hour engagement and includes the following activities:

  1. A PTC expert will work with your business process expert and IoT developer to identify the Connected Service use case options prior to the start of the exercise.
  2. A PTC expert will conduct a kick-off meeting to confirm the use case and schedule the working sessions.
  3. A PTC expert will remotely guide your team through the following activities:
    - Document the process flow of your selected use case
    - Jointly design and develop the data model
    - Deploy the use case to the appropriate sandbox environment(s)
  4. To close out the exercise, a PTC expert will provide a Solution Design Document (SDD) that documents the use case and its components.


The following criteria must be met before this service can be consumed:

  • You must have the ThingWorx curriculum completed
  • You must have ThingWorx and appropriate Connected Service product sandboxes available.
  • You must have a device with established connectivity.
  • You must have the data required for your identified use case and it must be available from your device.
