J-Link Wildfire - Timeout Resource Page

This Product Resource page covers the impact the Timeout issue has on this product/release, what options are available to address the impact, and provide additional information including Files and Instructions necessary to resolve the Timeout issue.

Impact

  • NMSD - J-Link Applications will not function.
  • Software Update – After applying the NMSD fix, the CPU Usage will increase significantly after starting a J-Link Application.

Resolution – Please refer to Impact section to determine which resolution steps are necessary for your system then the Files and Instructions section to obtain related updates.

  • NMSD - This file is required to run the current Release and Build of software you have installed.  This file will replace the current NMSD file in your current installations allowing them to function beyond January 10, 2004.  When available, download the files and follow the Instructions for NMSD below.
  • Software Update Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire Datecode 2003451 is now available for request or download.  This new Datecode resolves all “Timeout” related issues.  In this new Datecode, there is a known issue with Layout Parameters, unrelated to the timeout issue, as described in TAN 124010.   PTC will be fixing this issue in the next Datecode of Pro/E (2003490) and will be shipping that Datecode to all customers active on maintenance as soon as it is ready.  (Expected availability is late January.)
    • IMPORTANT:  You MUST uninstall your existing Pro/ENGINEER installation before installing this new Datecode.

Software Update

Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire Datecode 2003451 is now available and a CD may be requested or CD Image may be downloaded using the Software Download/Request Tool. (Please select Order or Download Software Updates and proceed by selecting Pro/ENGINEER in the Product Name pull-down menu.)

  • IMPORTANT:  You MUST uninstall your existing Pro/ENGINEER installation before installing this new Datecode.
  • PTC recommends this update as it is the most complete solution.  It is only available to customers on Active Maintenance.
  • There is a known issue with Layout Parameters, unrelated to the timeout issue, as described in TAN 124010.  The next Datecode (2003490) will resolve this issue and this Datecode will be automatically sent to all customers on Active Maintenance.
