PTC Receives $1.0 Million Order from SCP Global Technologies

PTC's flexible engineering solutions provide productivity gains boosting SCP's production and revenue

WALTHAM, Mass., April 6, 2000 - PTC (NASDAQ: PMTC), a leading provider of collaborative product commerce (CPC) solutions, today announced it has received an order in excess of $1.0 million dollars for PTC's flexible engineering software solutions and global services from SCP Global Technologies. SCP, located in Boise, Idaho, is a leading worldwide supplier of surface preparation technology, systems, and services to the semiconductor and related industries. The software was shipped to SCP Global Technologies during PTC's second fiscal quarter (ended April 1, 2000).

SCP aims to create an environment that will enable engineers to collaborate internally and externally using PTC flexible engineering solutions. PTC's i-Series including Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/MECHANICA, and DIVISION will enable engineers to collaborate with drawings, designs, multiple CAD formats, and concurrent engineering practices. SCP's decision to go with PTC's flexible engineering solutions was based on return on investment (ROI), proposed productivity gains, and projected company escalation in production and revenue.

"The addition of PTC's flexible engineering solutions has made it possible for SCP Global to take the advanced route of true concurrent and flexible engineering by introducing our outsource partners, supply chain, and design process vendors to true B2B collaboration," said Arne Sturlaugson, CAD systems manager at SCP. "PTC's CPC solutions will allow us to closely integrate the SCP supply alliance and design partners into a joint collaborative design and manufacturing environment."

"Using Pro/DIAGRAM for our electrical schematics has virtually eliminated electrical issues. The ability to create multiview components is essential to our documentation requirements and PTC offers the only package available to handle all of our needs," said Kip Guerrero, electrical engineering manager at SCP.
