Parametric Technology Receives Order for Software and Services from Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company

WALTHAM, Mass., February 25, 1998 -- Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC), developer of the Pro/ENGINEER® family of software tools used to automate the mechanical product development process, announced today that it has received an order for software and services from Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company of Belle Plaine, Minn. All software in the order was shipped during the first quarter of PTC's 1998 fiscal year (ended January 3, 1998).

Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company, re-founded in 1993, will manufacture and sell premium-quality heavyweight American-made cruiser motorcycles. Pro/ENGINEER Mechanical Design Solutions will be used for the complete product development process of the Super X Motorcycle, which will roll off their assembly line in the fall of 1998. In addition, Pro/MECHANICA Functional Simulation Solutions will be used to optimize product performance and ensure a cost, quality, and competitive advantage.
