Although there isn’t an official championship in your region, the rules are a great specification for your designing.

Official competitions combine scores from team presentations with the performance of your design. For example; times for a 25 lap race and the fastest lap for the F3 Challenge.

UK finals are held in June each year. All schools registered and opting to enter the competition are sent entry forms at Easter. Deadline for entry forms is the end of April. 2012 finals take place on June 24th at RAF Museum, Cosford. When teams are allocated times for their races and interviews with judges.

One of the real benefits of computer controlled manufacture is the accuracy of parts, which is essential to ensure the connection between the gears the drive gears mesh properly. If your school doesn’t have access to laser cutting or CNC, try contacting colleges or universities that offer manufacturing or engineering courses. Manufacturing companies might also be able to help.

Electronic presentations must be submitted by email to info@scalextric4schools.org no later than the end of October 2012.

The Championships will be held in November 2012. Further details soon.

On the day of the championships, teams are allocated times for their race and interviews with judges.
