An exciting and affordable
Design – Make – Race challenge
for middle and high schools

Run the challenge in taught curriculum or as an after school activity.

There isn’t a championship in your region but you can still run the Scalextric4Schools challenge with your students and link up with other schools for informal races? For a full list of challenges, look on the home page in the challenges section.

Here is everything you need to set up Scalextric4Schools in your school.

Below is everything you need to start Scalextric4Schools in your school plus, in the race section, is information for teams who want to enter the Australia National Championship.

Australia National Championships include: F3, Holden/GM Cruze and Holden/GM Volt Eco Challenges.

A full list of challenges including rules is on the Scalextric4Schools home page under the challenges section.

Race

Although there isn’t an official championship in your region, the rules are a great specification for your designing. Why not organise races with local schools?

Official competitions combine scores from team presentations with the performance of your design. For example; times for a 25 lap race and the fastest lap for the F3 Challenge.

No manufacture equipment?

One of the real benefits of computer controlled manufacture is the accuracy of parts, which is essential to ensure the connection between the gears the drive gears mesh properly. If your school doesn’t have access to laser cutting or CNC, try contacting colleges or universities that offer manufacturing or engineering courses. Manufacturing companies might also be able to help.

Race
Race

Electronic presentations must be submitted by email to info@scalextric4schools.org no later than the end of October 2012.

The Championships will be held in November 2012. Further details soon.

On the day of the championships, teams are allocated times for their race and interviews with judges.

25 lap race times and fastest lap are combined with presentation scores to find the championship winners.
