My background Welcome to the Administration section of the Pro/INTRALINK on-line community. My name is Joe Ferrante and I started with PTC Global Services in May of 1998 focused on deployment of Pro/PDM and Pro/INTRALINK. I currently work within the Services Methods group defining and supporting packaged service offerings. I have had to embark on the same journey as many of you to climb the learning curve as the face of CAD Data Management has changed.
Feedback from you I look forward to sharing ideas with you and learning from you as we take the step into the world of Pro/INTRALINK together. Please provide any feedback or questions in our discussion forum. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest and involvement in making this community a living, breathing entity where we can all turn for support and to bounce ideas off of each other. Through this Community, I hope to be able to provide you with tips and tricks that can hopefully make your lives easier.
Things you'll need before getting started Once you have made the decision to either try out Pro/INTRALINK or Windchill PDMLink in a pilot environment or to roll it into production, one of your first challenges will be to understand at a high level the installation process and architecture. It's a bit of a paradigm shift moving from the Pro/INTRALINK 3.x client/server architecture to the web-native architecture. You'll be pleased to know that besides Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and your web-browser, no other client applications will be deployed.
Until next time... Joe Ferrante
