Using Pro/INTRALINK 8.0 Course - Behind the Scenes

PTC's and my personal goal is to update and educate all our customers during Pro/INTRALINK 8.0 migration transition. Therefore I would like to introduce Harry Natarajan, Education Development Specialist and course developer for Pro/INTRALINK 8.0.

I have asked him to highlight some of the upcoming training modules for Pro/INTRALINK 8.0.

Matt Cohen

Now that you have seen and heard a lot about Pro/INTRALINK 8.0, you will be wondering how to get up to speed on using it for your routine design and data management tasks. I am a long time end-user of Pro/INTRALINK myself in addition to being a course developer. At first I was trying to get a handle of the shift in terminology in Pro/INTRALINK 8.0. This is important before trying to learn the various data management functions in the software. Hence I designed the first module to help you understand the new terminology and how it compares to the previous versions of Pro/INTRALINK.

The next few modules will help you get oriented to the Pro/INTRALINK 8.0 environment. You will learn how to search and browse for information. You will also learn how to generate various reports. Some of the reports are not called reports but details in the Pro/INTRALINK 8.0 environment. In the later modules, you will learn how to perform the core data management tasks such as checking out and checking in objects. You will notice that the workspaces work a little different from the previous versions but essentially serve the same purpose. You will also learn a lot of new functions and capabilities which really shows the strength of the new architecture of Pro/INTRALINK 8.0.

The results of the beta delivery of this course indicated that customers had a wonderful learning experience. I am confident that you will learn a lot in this exciting new course as it is filled with lots of reference material and a whole range of hands-on lab exercises.
