Benefits and Description
In PTC Windchill 10.2, several enhancements have been made to improve the performance of PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager for CATIA V5:
- The new preference update.system.attribute.on.drawing.open controls whether dependents loaded into product mode are forced to update changes to Windchill system attributes. When disabled, drawings open more quickly. However, disabling this preference can result in a discrepancy between the Windchill system attribute metadata information on CATParts and their actual state until the user loads the Windchill CATPart into design mode.
For more information, see the Frequently Used Preferences topic under Managing Preferences Using the wgmclient.ini File in the PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager Help Center or the PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager for CATIA V5 Administrator’s and User’s Guide. Tip: Enter the topic name in the PTC Windchill Workgroup Manager Help Center search field to easily navigate to the topic.
- Metadata is no longer updated when a translated image model (TIM) is opened in CATIA V5. As a result, the TIM opens much more quickly for heterogeneous design-in-context (HDIC) assemblies.
