Evinrude outboard motors that are uniquely designed with direct injected engines;the motors differentiate themselves in the marketplace by providing cleaner, quieter, lightweight and unique styling, that allowed Evinrude to win a 2003 Innovative Design Award.
Building Pro/ENGINEER virtual prototypes significantly shortened our product design time and reduced the number of physical “prototype, build and test” cycles by 50%. This reduction in physical prototyping reduced our total development time and resulted in a cost savings of over $600,000. Pro/ENGINEER engine block modeling techniques enabled us to remove detail drawing creation from the critical path and produce tooling directly from the design model. This inherently improved product quality, reduced production tooling lead times and cost by 25%. Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/PROCESS reduced service documentation creation time from 18 weeks to 8 weeks and enabled service documentation to be completed prior to product launch. The combined use of Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/MECHANICA, Pro/NC and Pro/INTRALINK improved our time-to-market on a new outboard from 36 months to 18 months.
Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines lead the industry in cleaner, quieter, lighter weight, more powerful engines, advanced technology, superior durability, quality, reliability and unique styling. E-TEC outboards won the prestigious “2003 Innovation Award” from the National Marine Manufacturers Association in February at the Miami International Boat Show. E-TEC outboards won the 2004 Motor Boating Magazine “Editor’s Choice Award” for low-maintenance, innovation and ingenuity. Evinrude Direct Injection (DI) outboard engine brand ranked "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Two-Stroke Engines" in the J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Marine Engine Competitive Information Study.
