PTC Schools Program

At PTC, we know that schools have limited budgets and that many teachers are pressed for time. That's why we offer no-cost or low-cost design applications, plus a complete learning program that makes it easy to bring 3D design into your classroom.

PTC is working with teachers and institutions, such as the International Technology Education Association (ITEA), the Design & Technology Association and other international education organizations, to ensure that our program is aligned with global and national standards for curriculum and the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) initiative. We used their insight to create our project based activities and modular courses - so we know that they are flexible and will work with any teacher's classroom schedule.

Our programs utilize PTC's completely integrated industry leading design applications, which include; educational versions of Pro/ENGINEER for 3D modeling, design and manufacturing; Windchill ProjectLink for project collaboration and Mathcad for engineering calculations. Our software is used at over 49,000 companies globally, and can help prepare students for higher education programs or for entering the workforce.

Design Applications

• Pro/ENGINEER Schools Edition
  The Schools Edition provides affordable technology teacher-led training workshops, donated licenses of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire design software (up to 300 seats), classroom materials and projects.
• Secondary Schools - Uninversity Pack
  For the next level of 3D design, we offer advanced functional capabilities in Pro/ENGINEER, CoCreate and Mathcad, including all aspects of CAD/CAM/CAE, customer support during regular business hours and PTC learning opportunities.
• Mathcad Academic Edition
  A virtual mathematical white board that integrates text, live math and graphics into a single environment to help students document their mathematical work.

Curriculum
PTC worked with teachers and institutions, such as the ITEA and other international education organizations, to develop the complete curriculum for our secondary schools program.

Assessments & Certification
PTC offers comprehensive assessment and certification tools to help students get the most out of the program.

Global Engineering
PTC is working to integrate our Global Engineering initiative at the secondary schools and undergraduate levels. This initiative encourages students to collaborate on "real world" design projects with other students, higher education institutions and industry.
