World Champions “Ready to Race” with KTM and PTC Creo

It’s not that easy to find the words to explain why we like to spend 15 days in the desert, by our own, on a bike. By the end, take a big trophy of 11 kilos and just to show again we are the winner...you know.

Philipp Habsburg:

When we develop a new motorcycle][we are working with world champions ][that’s also one of the key figures, why we ][achieved, last year, 20 world championship titles.][it comes out of the very strong relationship between motorsports and R&D. that’s one of the things that makes a KTM a KTM.

We decided, forever, to collect all our knowledge and experience on the racetrack. So, this is where we prove ourselves, and as soon, it’s proven this is the best product, then we are in the right position to bring it to the customer.

it wouldn’t be possible to develop motorcycles like we develop, without a system like PTC Creo.

We started about 15 years ago with the first two PTC Pro-Engineer licenses. ][ In KTM, we are searching for a very strong and long-lasting partnership. And we found this partnership with PTC.

in the meantime, we have around 150 Creo licenses, so it expands a lot.

Das schnelle Firmenwachstum hat natürlich auch seine Probleme mit sich gebracht, die aber Dank PTC Creo relativ gut in den Griff zu bekommen waren. Speziell seit der Einführung von Windchill, wo es gesichert ist, dass unsere Datenstände immer aktuell sind, klappt die Zusammenarbeit sehr reibungslos. (V/O in English) The fast growth of the company has naturally brought some challenges, but they are manageable thanks to PTC Creo, specifically since it’s linked to PTC Windchill whereby we can ensure that our data is always up-to-date. So collaboration works very smoothly.

The 690 Duke is a very special motorcycle, we started developing about three to four years ago.] [There is a team of engineers for the engine, and we have one for the chassis.

if you take a look at the 690 Duke, ][ it’s about 30 to 40 kilograms lighter than all of the competitors. And it has 70 horsepower.] Our competitors reach around 50-55 horses. So, it’s lighter, more durable, and much][stronger than the others.

“It was a great season last season for me with winning again a world title in MX1 Class.][This season for sure we want to improve more]

The feeling with the factory team it’s amazing because also it’s a factory behind us but then also][ It’s more family and complete KTM factory where everybody’s 100% into their work. It’s working perfect and we are working harder than ever to achieve our goals and beat everybody.
