Barco is a manufacturing company, but really technical. That means a lot of R&D people spread all over the world, couple of thousands of employees.
The customers of Barco are very diverse. We have our traditional markets. We are the number one in projection. So digital cinemas is one of our major customers. Also hospitals are our customers because of our expertise in diagnostic displays, for instance, but now we are also bringing our software and our networking expertise to hospitals, interconnecting the operating rooms. We're bringing the digital operating room, basically.
The value of software for our product strategy is that it's a lot more agile. You can do a lot more things quicker. You can respond quicker to the markets. Actually our entire organization is changing because of that.
We chose PTC Integrity Lifecycle Manager for ALM solution for many reasons. Our healthcare markets really demands compliancy according to traceability. And compliancy is one of the major drivers in our healthcare division to come up with a decent lifecycle management tool. We did a proper assessment and Integrity just came out as the best.
Previously an audit took about two days for us to go through this entire process and it was a struggle, and now it's only a day and half so that means we have about 30% decrease in the time to go through an audit. So it makes it much faster and it's even nicer to do as well. It's easier to do.
In passing those audits it gives also confidence that you're doing your things right. In doing your things right also gives us confidence that the product that you're delivering is going to do the right thing.
What I like most about Integrity Lifecycle Manager is really the power of the tool. You can do whatever you want with it and the basis still just keeps working. You can put in as much data as you want. You can configure it to your own needs. And I've never seen a tool that's just that highly configurable as PTC Integrity Lifecycle Manager.
We gain a competitive edge because we can respond faster to requests of our customers. We can reuse assets, we can deliver our products faster, and the traceability guarantees that we do our things right, as well.
